The Versatiles ~ Stronger Strong
song: Stronger Strong
artist: The Versatiles
lable: SOUL SOUNDS
producer: W. Williams
The Versatiles were a singing trio formed by Junior Byles with fellow vocalists Earl Dudley and Louis Davis. They began their recording career in 1967 working for Joe Gibbs under the guidance of Joe Gibbs’ then engineer Lee Perry. The trio cut a string of singles for Gibbs as Rocksteady gave way to Reggae. Later they left Gibbs to work with other producers including Duke Reid, Laurel Aitken, and Lee Perry who had stuck out on his own.
This is a reposting from an earlier video. I have since been informed that this song was recorded after Junior Byles had left the Versatiles to start his solo career. Apparently this song is sung by Earl Dudley and Louis Davis alone. That may be true. If anyone has further information about this single and who is singing in it please let us know.
I got thes tracks from a guy named Alon who I met on the internet about ten years ago. We exchanged some music and then we lost track of each other. Are you out there Alon? Thanks for the CD I still play it.
I pieced the Dub and vocal tracks together to make a continuous song. If anyone wants the separate tracks let me know.
