Fight those cravings with a health snack

The Great American Smokeout is an opportunity to bring together community resources and health care providers to encourage and challenge tobacco users to quit, while providing them with tools they can use to successfully remain tobacco free. It’s important to not trade one bad habit for another so we are offering this healthy alternative to cut back on junk food snacking.

Yogurt Bark Base
Prep: 10 minutes
Freeze: 1-2 hrs
Total: 120 minutes
Yield: 6 servings
Serving Size: ~1/6 of the bark

Base Ingredients
• 2 cups light or low fat plain Greek yogurt
• 1/4 cup honey
• 1 TSP of vanilla extract

Suggested Toppings
• Berries: raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries
• Other Fruits: bananas• Dried fruits
• Nuts and seeds: walnuts, pistachios, almonds, chia seed, flax seed, hemp seeds
• Cocoa nibs or Chocolate chips
• Peanut butter
• Unsweetened shredded coconut

Directions
1. In a large bowl combine yogurt, honey and vanilla and stir till well combined.
2. Line a medium sized cookie sheet with parchment paper
3. Spread yogurt mixture onto parchment lined pan until ~1/4 inch thick.
4. Prepare toppings chosen for the bark recipe and sprinkle evenly on the yogurt base.
5. Freeze for ~1-2 hours or until frozen. Cut into 6 pieces and enjoy.
6. Can store in freezer bag or freezer safe container.
